Spoiler alert ahead so you’ve been warned if you’ve been wanting to watch the movie It Ends With Us. I recently saw the movie and have also read the book, and holy moly. I must admit I am now low key obsessed with it, the soundtrack (which if you’re going to download, iTunes only currently has a motion picture score so you’ll have to download the soundtrack by hunting the songs down and download individually) is absolutely incredible. So without spoiling it to much, these hot chocolate cookies are relevant to the movie. I have adapted my original chocolate chip cookies recipe with some added ingredients like the cocoa and Nesquik powders, and mallow bits to make them taste as close to a hot chocolate taste as possible. My husband and sons agreed that they came out phenomenal and taste just like hot chocolate. Even though they yield 48 cookies, proceed with caution and luck be with you trying not to eat them all at once. Hah!

Hot Chocolate Cookies
Ingredients
- 3.5 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp cacao cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp chocolate Nesquik powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp chocolate chunks
- 1 1/2 cups Kraft Jet Puffed Mallow Bits
Prepare
- First, place all of the dry ingredients in a bowl of a stand mixer. Using the paddle attachment lightly mix for a few seconds until all of the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Next, mix in the wet ingredients until all of the dough is sticky to the touch, but coming off of the mixing bowl with no dry ingredients at the bottom of the bowl.
- Place parchment paper on two baking sheets. Roll each dough ball, slightly smaller than the size of a gold ball. Place them into four rows of three cookies each on the sheets. Bake at 350 F for 14 minutes, rotating the pans halfway through to ensure even baking on all of the cookies.
- Take the cookies out of the oven and allow to cool at least 10 minutes on a wire rack.
- Finally, devour, but good luck trying not to eat them all at once. Yields 4 dozen cookies.
