My passionfruit tree has been blooming and booming after a year of spreading its vines all over our trees on the side of our house and I am in love! I have two for breakfast everyday and have been enjoying them in cocktails, desserts, and now this steak. I have always been a fan of adding fruits to my meats but this is by far the best combination of all time. It leaves citrusy notes in the meat, which I love! I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I did.

Passionfruit Flank Steak
Ingredients
- 2 lbs flank steak, butterflied
- 5 passion fruits, pulp/seeds only
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1/2 tbsp garlic, mashed
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, plus additional for oiling grill.
Prepare
- First, butterfly your flank steak, making sure to yield to evenly cut parts of steak.
- Next, marinate the steak in a large bowl with the passionfruit pulp and seeds, cumin, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil for one hour to one day. The longer you leave it, the better flavor it yields.
- Then heat a grill to medium high and grill on each side for 4-5 minutes for medium or longer as needed.
- Finally, slice the steak up against the grain and serve with desired side.
