My son made these bunny pastelitos for Easter this year and for how incredibly easy it was to make, they came out restaurant quality approved! The ingredients list is short, the process is quick. Just make sure to cut the shapes out while the dough is still stiff and things will go smoothly and your dough won’t become too soft to handle without sticking. You can use any other cutter if you please. You can keep things simply and traditional by using a knife to cut rectangles or a circular cutter to make circles. We are hoping to make these again using the heart shape cutters next time for Valentine’s Day. Either way you slice these, they will be sure to win your heart, mouth, and stomach! Enjoy with some coffee for dessert or breakfast soon!

Ingredients
- 2 boxes Dufour Puff Pastry Dough
- 1 Jar Guava Jelly
- 1 bar cream cheese
- 1 egg + 1 Tbsp water, for egg wash
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
Prepare
- First, take plastic wrapped dough out of boxes, open, and allow to slightly defrost on your countertop for at least 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Next, if using the bunny cutter, you will be able to cut out 16 total bunnies on a piece of parchment paper. Place a teaspoon of guava jelly along with a teaspoon of cream cheese in the head of 8 of the bunny cutouts.
- Then, use the remaining bunnies to cover those bunnies and seal them by using a fork and pressing down the edges together of each one until completely sealed.
- Transfer the bunnies to a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Mix the egg and water to make the egg wash and brush over each bunny before placing into the oven.
- Bake your bunny pastelitos for 16 minutes total time, rotating halfway through if using two sheets and top and bottom racks.
- Finally, remove the pastelitos from the oven, sprinkle with the granulated sugar and allow to cool before serving. Enjoy!
